Motorola Milestone Touchscreen Problems

I have found tons of complains regarding Milestone and this is the most common one.

Motorola Milestone most common problem is touchscreen not behaving properly, some refers this to "ghost hand". The touchscreen will behave like someone is messing with your screen. This problems occurs in Milestone which are 8 to 12 months old. This is because Motorola Milestone has a design flaw regarding on the slide design. While sliding on the phone it creates a wear and tear on the flex ribbon located inside the phone, thus exposing the metal wires, which causes the screen behave abnormally (check picture)

Worn out Insulation Exposes the Metal Wiring
According to a Chinese Website it can be fixed by applying insulation to the exposed wires

It may or may not be the solution for your touch screen problem but its worth the try, rather than replacing the whole digitizer which will cost you money.

Here's a video on how to open a Motorola Milestone

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Features and Release Date

Google is releasing its android "Ice Cream Sandwich" to counter the release of Iphone 5

Here are the list of Details regarding this update:

  • Brand-new launcher and app drawer, with screenshots of both featured exclusively onRootzWiki - with what appears to be a task switcher icon on the homescreen, though it could be something else.
  • Camera now has a panorama mode (not pictured)
  • Gmail has been totally re-themed to go with the new OS (not pictured)
  • Nexus S will be receiving ICS via update, but the "Nexus Prime" will be getting it first
  • Mostly UI changes - many older devices (< 1 year old) should be able to run it

We don't know the exact release date but we're keeping an eye on it!
